The Great Carbohydrate Debate emphasises the need of carbs in our diets. The supporters advise one to eat more grainy or high fibre breads, cereals, fruits and veges. The fibre content of carb foods helps keep your digestive system healthy, preventing and treating such conditions as constipation, haemorrhoids, diverticular disease and irritable bowel syndrome.

Artificial Sweeteners
Sugar makes life sweeter, but artificial sweeteners have their downside, such as weight gain, diabetes, cancer links and cavity issues. Since this article was published in 2005, the food manufacturing companies have been placed under pressure to reduce the sugar content in their food products. Manufactures also responded to the European Commission call to reduce, or remove existing sugar levels in food products, however the food company response has been to research and use artificial sweeteners instead.

Hormones – we either love them or hate them. However, no matter what you do, you cannot live without them and neither can you allow them to ruin your life.
